I’m an undergraduate at the University of Chicago studying Political Science and pursuing a Master’s in History during my senior year.
Over my first two years, I’ve taken courses ranging from Introduction to Data Science and Economics for Public Policy to Argumentative Writing, Politics and Writing in the 1960s and ’70s, and the American Presidency. I’ve learned how to code in Python and R, how to turn raw numbers into visual stories, and how to think critically about the political choices that shape the U.S. and the world.
I’ve had the chance to bring what I’m learning into real newsrooms. I’ve contributed to The Broadsheet NY, the Invisible Institute, South Side Weekly, the Hyde Park Herald, and WBEZ’s Reset. Whether I’m pitching a story, editing a post for social release, or sorting through old data, I’m always drawing from what I know—and staying open to what I don’t yet.
I approach life loudly, always wanting to ask strangers their story. I like to feel nostalgic, sad, energized by the work I do—it means I’m doing something right. I do my best work in places that let me feel deeply while thinking collaboratively.
